Faiza Mathaker
Faiza is an Associate in our Charity and Not for Profit department and joined LBMW in May 2026. Faiza works alongside Khalid Sofi to advise clients on a broad range Charity and Not for Profit matters.
Her work includes assisting with the creation of new charities, amending charity constitutions and upgrading charity structures. Faiza also advises on regulatory issues, including matters involving the Charity Commission and supports faith based and related organisations.
Prior to joining LBMW, Faiza trained at a West End law firm before gaining further experience at another Legal 500 ranked firm specialising in Private Client. Her varied background complements her current practice.
In addition to her charity and private client experience, Faiza has also worked on litigation matters, giving her broader experience in contentious issues that may arise within charities and related organisations.
Faiza read law at SOAS, University of London before completing her LPC and LLM at the University of Law (London), achieving a distinction. Her studies included comparative legal systems across Africa, Asia and the Middle East, exploring the application of Islamic law in difference legal and cultural contexts.
