Art & Heritage
Lee Bolton Monier-Williams has a long history working closely with English Heritage and other bodies in respect of its ecclesiastical and property work. Recent matters have also included acting for art and heritage charities and providing other forms of legal advice to those working in the sector.
This area of law encompasses many of the specialist practice streams undertaken by the firm as a whole, such as commercial and IP, property and, in particular, by the charities team.
We can offer advice and representation on a range of legal issues affecting the art and heritage world, including those relating to museum artefacts, collections and other historical objects. Recent examples of our work include advising on:
- Art transactions
- Creation of permanent endowment and protection of works by declaration of trust
- Charities established to promote and further the arts (including in particular the visual arts and music)
- Heritage property
