Stephen Borton joined the firm of Lee Bolton & Lee in 1986 having had a career as a church musician, performer and teacher.
In 1988 he became Chief Clerk of the Faculty Office of the Archbishop of Canterbury (located at the firm's offices) and also of the ecclesiastical department of the firm. In his work for the Faculty Office, he has particular expertise in the law of marriage and also in the administration of the notarial profession in England and Wales.
He is also responsible for four Diocesan Registries and has considerable experience and expertise in the Faculty Jurisdiction and in the law relating to clergy appointments, employment and discipline. He has been a member of the Ecclesiastical Law Society since 1994 and has recently been appointed Ecclesiastical Manager to Lee Bolton Monier-Williams.
