Jodie is a Paralegal in the Private Client Department at Lee Bolton Monier-Williams. She joined the firm in November 2018 having qualified as a Specialist Paralegal in March 2011. Jodie is an active member of STEP (Society of Trust and Practitioners) and holds a STEP Certificate in Trusts & Estates and a STEP Advanced Certificate in Administration of Estates.
Jodie has extensive experience in a range of areas of Private Client including Probate, Trusts, Wills, Powers of Attorney, Mental Capacity, Court of Protection and Tax. Jodie enjoys client interaction and builds excellent relationships with her clients.
Jodie dealt with two estates who had the same beneficiary. One was taxable and one was not. Jodie came up with a solution to prepare a Deed of Variation effectively saving the estate in excess of £80,000 Inheritance Tax.
Jodie built a long-term relationship some clients who were a wealthy family of four. Jodie dealt with their Wills and Powers of Attorney (and various changes over the years). Their assets included foreign property, horses and valuable equestrian equipment.
Jodie dealt with the preparation of a Will for a terminally ill man who sadly died leaving his estate in trust for his young daughter. Jodie invested and managed the funds appropriately for her to receive upon reaching the age of 25.
Jodie dealt with an estate where an elderly client died with no close family or friends. Jodie arranged her funeral, headstone, house clearance and sale of property. The estate then passed to specific charities.
Jodie lives in Salisbury, Wiltshire. She enjoys travelling both abroad and exploring new areas in the UK. Jodie is a qualified horse-riding instructor and volunteers at events when she can. She also spends time at the gym and enjoys eating out.
