Railway Property

We provide commercial and legal advice on all aspects of operational and non-operational railway land, including the sale and development of land, construction of new stations, car parks, easements, negotiating ransom strips, the provision of new rail sidings and all other railway interface issues.

Our property lawyers advise upon and negotiate legal documentation for developers, local authorities, buyers of railway land and for those who require access rights over the railway. We advise on and negotiate all regulatory documents required in relation to railway schemes, including asset protection agreements required where construction work is carried out on or near the railway, stations and sidings.

We also advise on all regulatory requirements concerning works, changes to station leases and car parks, procedures for compliance with the station access conditions, the Network Code, minor modifications (closure) applications of parts of stations, track access agreements and freight access agreements for sidings.
