Our family team has significant experience in advising on the administration of estates, having done so for a number of years.
For those who have never had to deal with the administration of an estate (whether as an executor or a beneficiary), we can assist with guiding you through the process and advising you on your role, obligations, rights and duties as necessary.
Some clients do not want their families to have the burden of dealing with their estate following their death, especially as this will prove to be an extremely emotional time for the family. We are happy to act as executors and often find that this alleviates a lot of the pressure placed on families. Alternatively, we can simply assist clients with the basic administration of an estate, such as preparing the HM Revenue & Customs documentation.
In the past, our work has involved advising executors on estates with assets in a number of jurisdictions and high value complex estates with advanced trusts, investments in private companies and significant property portfolios, as well as smaller estates which can also be pretty complex. Our team also has experience of advising our charity clients on legacies bequeathed to them under a Will and acting for executors and beneficiaries in either defending or bringing claims against estates.
