Contentious Trusts & Estates

Disputes regarding family and inherited wealth are becoming ever more common and can be extremely stressful. Complicated family structures, high value estates and family tensions are all things that tend to give rise to circumstances in which disputes arise.

We understand that it is often the case that it is more than just a financial interest at stake and will try and resolve the problem as efficiently and in the least stressful way possible. However, we always have our client's best interests at heart and will fight for these all the way to trial if necessary.

When such disputes do arise, our team advises executors, trustees and beneficiaries. We have extensive experience of advising executors and beneficiaries on disputed Wills, claims made under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 and claims made against estates under other complicated legal principles such as the doctrine of estoppel. We also have experience of advising trustees and beneficiaries where disputes arise over trusts, whether it concerns the management of the trusts by the trustees or the rights of the beneficiaries.
